Wirex Brings Agentic Payments Onchain With TRON-Native Infrastructure

Wirex has announced a strategic collaboration with TRON DAO to launch TRON-native payment infrastructure — a fully onchain system designed to support instant, autonomous, and global payments, including the emerging category of agentic transactions.

At its core, this launch isn’t just about faster payments. It’s about enabling a new financial primitive: systems where applications, AI agents, and users can transact autonomously, without intermediaries, while maintaining full self-custody.

Payments Built Natively for TRON

Unlike traditional crypto payment integrations that rely on offchain bridges or custodial layers, Wirex’s new infrastructure is built entirely onchain and natively on TRON.

That means every step — from stablecoin conversion to settlement — runs directly on the network. The result is near-instant finality, negligible fees, and full transparency, while preserving the programmability required for advanced use cases like automated payroll, AI-driven commerce, and machine-to-machine payments.

For TRON users, this unlocks something long promised but rarely delivered: the ability to spend, move, and deploy digital assets in everyday life — retail purchases, international transfers, invoices, and payments — without giving up control of their funds.

Why TRON, Why Now

TRON has quietly become one of the most important settlement layers in crypto.

The network has processed over $23 trillion in total transfer volume, supports 350+ million user accounts, and has recorded more than 12 billion transactions. It also hosts one of the largest stablecoin ecosystems globally, with over $80 billion in circulating USD stablecoins as of late 2025.

“By building TRON-native payment infrastructure, we’re proving that onchain money can move as seamlessly as data — fast, transparent, programmable, and under user control. This is the foundation for the next generation of self-custodial and agentic payments.”

Pavel Matveev, Co-Founder of Wirex

By pairing that scale with Wirex’s established payment rails, the collaboration bridges onchain liquidity directly to real-world commerce.

Designed for Agentic Finance

One of the most forward-looking aspects of the launch is its agentic-readiness.

The infrastructure is explicitly designed for a future where AI agents and autonomous applications can initiate, receive, and settle payments programmatically. This requires more than speed — it demands predictable fees, composability, and continuous availability, all of which TRON’s high-performance architecture supports.

Key capabilities include:

  • Fully onchain processing, from conversion to settlement

  • Self-custody by default, with Wirex providing rails, not custody

  • Global card and banking connectivity, bridging TRON to Visa’s 80M+ merchant network across 130+ countries

  • Unified USD and EUR stablecoin support, with 1:1 conversion and no spreads

  • Real-world utility, spanning payments, payroll, invoices, and commerce

In practice, this means digital assets on TRON are no longer confined to wallets or exchanges — they become programmable money usable in everyday economic activity.

The TRON-Wirex integration marks another milestone in Wirex’s broader strategy: acting as an orchestration layer that connects blockchains, stablecoins, banks, card networks, and liquidity providers into a single programmable payment stack.
