This Cookie Policy explains how Blockster Media & Technology, LLC (“Blockster,” “we,” “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on blockster.com.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They help websites work, remember your preferences and understand how they are used.
2. How we use them
Essential
Needed for the site to work, for example to keep pages secure, keep Blockster Studio users signed in and support Business Membership checkout, where our payment processor, Stripe, sets cookies to prevent fraud. These cannot be switched off.
Local storage in your browser also remembers on this device which Stations and authors you follow, so their pages show “Following” when you come back. It records only which ones you follow, never your email address.
Analytics
We measure which stories, shows and pages people use with privacy-friendly analytics that don’t set cookies or follow you across other sites. We only see aggregated reports.
Advertising measurement
We count how many times an ad or sponsorship is seen or clicked, without cookies, so we can report results to sponsors in aggregate. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t sell your personal information.
Following and email alerts
Following a Station or an author, and asking to hear when a guide is out, work by email, not cookies. The only part kept on your device is the note of which Stations and authors you follow (see Essential above). See our Privacy Policy.
3. Third-party content on our pages
Some pages include content from other services, which may set their own cookies when you interact with it:
- YouTube for interview videos. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and the player loads only when you press play.
- X for embedded posts in articles.
- Talk Society for voice AI concierges, when you choose to start a conversation.
These services’ own policies govern their cookies.
4. How long cookies last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period, typically from one day to two years, or until you delete them. The note of what you follow stays in local storage until you clear your browser’s data for blockster.com.
5. Your choices
We don’t show a cookie banner, because the only cookies we set are the essential ones the site needs to work. We don’t use cookies for analytics or advertising. Content from YouTube, X and Talk Society is covered by their own policies (see section 3).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working, such as Business Membership checkout or signing in to Blockster Studio. Clearing your browser’s data resets the Follow buttons on this device, but doesn’t unsubscribe you: to stop the emails, use the unsubscribe link in any of them.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “last updated” date.
