MetaMask is officially going multichain in a more meaningful way — and TRON is now part of that core experience.
As of today, MetaMask has rolled out native TRON support across both its mobile app and browser extension, allowing users to manage TRON-based assets and interact with TRON dApps directly inside one of the world’s most widely used self-custody wallets, developed by Consensys.
The integration brings TRON’s high-throughput, low-cost blockchain infrastructure into MetaMask’s expanding multichain environment — eliminating the need for separate wallets, bridges, or custom workflows to access the TRON ecosystem.

With native TRON support live, MetaMask users can now:
Send and receive USDT on TRON seamlessly
Swap assets across TRON, EVM chains, Solana, and Bitcoin from one interface
Stake TRX directly
Connect to TRON-native dApps without leaving MetaMask
The result is a more unified Web3 experience — one where users can move between major blockchain ecosystems without switching tools or sacrificing self-custody.
“TRON’s native integration into MetaMask significantly expands access to a blockchain that already powers real-world payments at massive scale. Users can now interact with TRON’s ecosystem directly through a familiar wallet environment — without added complexity.”

MetaMask’s Multichain Strategy Takes Shape
For MetaMask, TRON joins a growing list of non-EVM networks now supported natively, alongside Solana and Bitcoin. The move reflects MetaMask’s broader strategy to evolve from an Ethereum-first wallet into a universal gateway to Web3.
“As we expand MetaMask’s multichain capabilities, native TRON support marks another milestone. This integration meets users where they already are and brings us closer to delivering a truly unified interface for the decentralized economy.”
Rizvi Haider, Staff Product Manager at MetaMask
MetaMask, built by Consensys, has long served as the default entry point for Ethereum and EVM-based networks. Consensys itself has played a foundational role in Web3 infrastructure since 2014 — building products like MetaMask, Infura, and Linea, and helping shape protocol development, tooling, and staking infrastructure across the ecosystem.
TRON’s Role as a Settlement Layer
Founded in 2017, TRON has quietly grown into one of the most heavily used public blockchains in crypto. As of January 2026, the network has recorded:
359+ million user accounts
12+ billion total transactions
$25+ billion in total value locked
One of the largest circulating supplies of USDT, exceeding $81 billion
