The line between a crypto account and an investment account is disappearing quickly.

Just yesterday, Binance added another 25 stocks and ETFs. Now NEAR.com is bringing tokenized Nvidia, Tesla, Apple and QQQ into the same account users already use for crypto, through a new integration with Ondo Finance.

The difference is what happens behind the screen. Eligible users can start with Bitcoin, USDC or other supported assets across more than 30 networks, while NEAR Intents handles the cross-chain routing required to reach the tokenized security. There is no manual bridging, second wallet or separate brokerage account.

That makes this more than another platform adding stocks. As crypto exchanges, wallets and apps race to combine traditional and digital markets, NEAR is betting that the better experience is one where users barely have to think about the blockchain at all.

What Exactly Are You Buying?

Ondo's products give eligible users tokenized economic exposure to stocks and ETFs. Someone can gain exposure to the performance of Nvidia, Tesla, Apple or QQQ through an onchain token rather than buying through a traditional brokerage account.

There is an important distinction. The tokens are not the underlying shares and do not give holders ownership of, or rights to receive, those securities. They are also unavailable to U.S. persons and users in the United States, Canada and certain other prohibited jurisdictions.

Ondo's tokenized securities platform has already reached significant scale, with more than $1 billion in TVL and $26 billion in cumulative trading volume, according to the announcement. NEAR is therefore plugging into an established tokenized-stock market rather than building one from scratch.

Binance Just Added 25 Stocks. NEAR Is Taking a Different Route

Just yesterday, Blockster reported that Binance added another 25 stocks and ETFs, expanding an offering that gives eligible users access to more than 7,000 U.S. securities, fractional investing from $5 and extended trading hours.

Other crypto platforms are moving in the same direction. Bitget has brought tokenized stocks, ETFs and gold into its trading ecosystem, while KuCoin Web3 Wallet added more than 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs through Ondo.

NEAR's differentiation is less about which stocks are available and more about how users get to them.

Binance is increasingly making a crypto exchange look like a brokerage, while NEAR.com is trying to make the blockchain infrastructure behind the transaction almost disappear.

From Bitcoin to Nvidia Without the Blockchain Detour

A crypto user trying to reach an asset on another blockchain can still face a messy sequence: bridge funds, change networks, acquire another gas token, connect another wallet and finally make the trade they wanted in the first place.

NEAR Intents works backward from the desired outcome. Someone can arrive with supported assets across more than 30 networks, select an eligible Ondo security and let the infrastructure determine how to execute the transaction.

Blockster recently covered the same model when Aurora Intents added Sui, allowing users to move from assets on another network directly into lending, staking or trading positions on Sui with one signature. Aurora's system runs on the same underlying NEAR Intents infrastructure.

NEAR.com adds confidentiality to that experience. Transactions are executed confidentially rather than exposing each step publicly, an approach Blockster recently explored when NEAR reached $70 million in confidential TVL.

“In the NEAR ecosystem, we’re building technology that enables people to manage their money across assets and markets through one account, with confidentiality built in,” said Alex Shevchenko, CEO of Defuse Labs, the developer of NEAR Intents. “Our partnership with Ondo brings traditional financial markets closer to that onchain experience.”

The Next Battle Is Making the Blockchain Invisible

The larger trend is becoming clear. Crypto exchanges and wallets increasingly want to become the place where users manage both digital assets and traditional-market exposure.

The strategies are slightly different. Binance is making its crypto account look more like a brokerage. Bitget and KuCoin are putting tokenized traditional assets beside crypto. NEAR is betting that users should barely have to think about which blockchain any of those assets are on.

“NEAR Intents makes that real,” said Armand Khatri, Head of Ecosystem at Ondo Finance. “A near.com user holding USDC, Bitcoin, or other assets across 30+ networks can now hold tokenized NVIDIA, Tesla, or QQQ in the same account, with no separate brokerage account, no bridging, and no second wallet.”

That distinction could become more important as tokenized equities mature. Once Nvidia, Tesla and Apple are available through multiple crypto platforms, simply listing them becomes less of a differentiator. The experience around reaching, trading and holding those assets becomes the next competition.

Tokenized Stocks Are Becoming a Real Market

The market itself is also getting harder to dismiss as an experiment. Blockster previously reported that tokenized stocks reached a record $2.3 billion market cap, as more traditional equities moved onto public blockchains.

More recently, tokenized equities on Solana reached a record $684 million in supply. Ondo's own platform now reports more than $1 billion in TVL and $26 billion in cumulative trading volume.

NEAR says its Intents infrastructure has also processed more than $30 billion in cross-chain volume. Ondo's tokenized assets will now be available through participating wallets, DeFi protocols and applications integrated with NEAR Intents, subject to eligibility and jurisdictional restrictions.

For eligible investors, the proposition is easy to understand: start with Bitcoin or another supported crypto asset and end with tokenized Nvidia, Tesla, Apple or QQQ exposure without manually navigating the infrastructure connecting them.

Crypto platforms are already proving they can put stocks beside Bitcoin. NEAR's bigger bet is that the better experience may be the one where users barely notice the blockchain at all.
