Monarq Asset Management, Flare and Upshift Launch XRP Yield Vault

The XRP ecosystem is increasingly evolving beyond simple payments and token transfers into something closer to a full onchain financial system.

Today, Monarq Asset Management, Flare, and Upshift announced the launch of MXRPY, a managed multi-strategy XRP yield vault designed to give XRP holders access to diversified yield strategies through a single product.

Built on Flare using FXRP — XRP’s representation on the network — the vault combines multiple yield-generating strategies spanning both onchain and offchain markets.

The launch reflects a broader expansion happening across XRPFi, the growing ecosystem of decentralized financial products being built around XRP liquidity.

Bringing Structured Yield Strategies to XRP

The MXRPY vault allows users to deposit FXRP into a professionally managed structure powered by Monarq Asset Management and built on Upshift’s institutional vault infrastructure.

The product currently targets an estimated 3% to 4% APY through a mix of options strategies, basis and funding-rate arbitrage, and Flare-native XRPFi deployments.

“A real financial system needs a broader menu of options,” said Shiliang Tang. “MXRPY is built to be one of those options for XRP holders.”

The vault allocates capital across three primary strategy categories.

One strategy uses XRP as collateral through FalconX infrastructure to support options trading across venues like Deribit and OTC structured products. Another deploys market-neutral basis and funding-rate strategies using borrowed stablecoins across broader crypto markets. A third allocates capital directly into Flare-native DeFi opportunities, including lending markets and liquidity strategies powered by FXRP.

Users depositing FXRP receive MXRPY receipt tokens representing deposited capital and accrued yield, while withdrawals operate through a weekly redemption cycle with optional instant redemption mechanisms available.

XRPFi Continues Expanding Beyond Basic DeFi

The launch marks another step in Flare’s broader push to expand XRPFi beyond simple lending and staking products.

“The Clearstar EarnXRP vault showed that there is real demand for XRP-denominated vaults on Flare,” said Ethan. “We’re now expanding the model with Monarq, a second XRP vault with a different strategy profile and a broader set of yield sources.”

Flare has increasingly positioned itself as infrastructure for bringing non-smart-contract assets like XRP into decentralized finance environments through its FAssets system.

That infrastructure is helping create new layers of utility around XRP liquidity, allowing holders to access DeFi strategies without leaving the broader XRP ecosystem entirely.

The companies also confirmed plans for a future standalone application that would allow users to connect directly through XRPL wallets and allocate capital through single-signature flows powered by Flare Smart Accounts.

Institutional Structures Are Moving Into Onchain Finance

The launch also reflects a broader shift happening across crypto as institutional-style investment strategies increasingly move onchain.

Instead of relying only on token price appreciation or emissions-based rewards, products like MXRPY are introducing more traditional yield strategies into DeFi, including arbitrage, options trading, and structured portfolio management.

That trend is expanding across tokenized finance, stablecoins, and institutional DeFi as asset managers look for more sustainable and diversified sources of yield.

At the same time, the companies noted that the vault still carries risks tied to both onchain and offchain markets, including smart contract risks, counterparty exposure, and infrastructure dependencies.

Still, the launch highlights how quickly XRPFi is evolving beyond basic lending and staking products into a broader financial ecosystem built around structured yield and institutional-grade infrastructure.
