Maple Expands Institutional Yield Into Ink’s Growing DeFi Ecosystem

Maple is expanding its institutional yield products deeper into DeFi through a new integration with Ink.

The move brings Maple’s yield-bearing asset syrupUSDT into Ink-native applications, giving users access to institutional-grade onchain yield strategies across the network’s growing DeFi ecosystem.

The integration significantly expands Maple’s distribution as competition intensifies around tokenized yield products tied to real-world financial activity rather than speculative emissions.

Maple says the launch could eventually expose syrupUSDT to more than 10 million users across Ink-connected applications and wallets.

Maple has become one of the largest players in that transition, managing roughly $3.8 billion in assets while building products that bridge traditional capital markets with decentralized finance infrastructure.

By deploying syrupUSDT on Ink, Maple is embedding those yield products directly into a newer Layer 2 ecosystem focused on consumer-facing onchain finance.

Built on the OP Stack by the team behind Kraken, Ink is positioning itself as a high-performance Ethereum Layer 2 designed for scalable onchain applications.

As Layer 2 ecosystems compete for liquidity and users, yield-bearing assets are becoming critical infrastructure for lending markets, trading apps, and structured financial products.

Maple’s syrupUSDT will initially launch across Ink-native applications including Tydro, allowing users to earn yield while integrating the asset into broader onchain strategies.
