Justin Sun Becomes Youngest Chinese Commercial Astronaut with Blue Origin NS-34 Flight

Geneva, Switzerland — In case you've missed this week's big news, TRON founder Justin Sun has officially made history, completing a spaceflight aboard Blue Origin’s 14th human mission and 34th New Shepard flight.

The achievement makes Sun the youngest Chinese-born commercial astronaut and the first entrepreneur from the cryptocurrency industry featured on the cover of Forbes to travel to space. “For this mission we waited four years, but we finally delivered,” Sun said after landing. “I really appreciate Mr. Bezos and his team for making this possible. And thank you, dad and mom, for bringing me into the world."

Justin Sun, Founder of TRON Justin added, "When I look from space, the Earth is so small—it’s our home. We need to do whatever we can to protect it.”

From $28M Bid to TRON’s First Step in Space

Sun initially secured his seat in 2021 with a winning $28 million bid, with all proceeds donated to Blue Origin’s Club for the Future. The foundation distributed the funds equally to 19 space-focused non-profits, each receiving $1 million to inspire the next generation in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).

Aboard the NS-34 flight, Sun carried 1,000 personal wishes from the global TRON community—marking the ecosystem’s symbolic first presence beyond Earth’s atmosphere. The gesture honored builders, users, and supporters across the crypto industry who have advanced the Web3 vision of decentralization and innovation.

More than a personal milestone, Sun’s journey reflects the growing connection between commercial space exploration and emerging technologies like blockchain. As a leader in digital finance and decentralized systems, Sun’s achievement highlights how innovation and ambition can push boundaries for both technology and human discovery.

TRON’s $82B Ecosystem Looks Beyond Earth

TRON DAO, founded by Sun in 2017, has grown into one of the largest blockchain ecosystems in the world, hosting over $82 billion in circulating USDT, more than 323 million total user accounts, over 11 billion transactions, and $26 billion in total value locked (TVL) as of August 2025.

This spaceflight not only cements TRON’s reputation for innovation but also inspires a new generation to envision a future where blockchain and space exploration can advance together—beyond the limits of Earth.

This spaceflight follows a period of significant momentum for TRON:
