Why It Matters
For FIFA Rivals, the partnership is a chance to set a precedent in digital fan engagement. As the first mobile football game to integrate digital ownership and player-driven economies, FIFA Rivals continues to push beyond traditional gaming, blending blockchain technology with mainstream sports culture.
For Borussia Dortmund, the move signals a recognition that the next generation of fans lives online. By meeting supporters where they play, the club is expanding its reach far beyond Signal Iduna Park.
