MoonPay Expands U.S. Crypto Access With Discover Network Integration

MoonPay is making crypto accessible to millions more Americans by adding Discover® Network to its payments platform.

The integration allows eligible U.S. Discover cardholders to buy and sell digital assets across MoonPay's network of more than 500 wallets, exchanges and Web3 applications, making Discover the third major U.S. card network supported alongside Visa and Mastercard.

With support already spanning Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, bank transfers and regional payment rails, MoonPay is continuing its strategy of making crypto purchases feel as familiar as any other online checkout.

Connecting Another Major Payment Network

"Every payment method we add removes a reason someone doesn't convert at checkout," said Richard Harrison, Vice President of Banking and Payments Partnerships at MoonPay.

"We've built MoonPay around a simple principle: every way people already pay should work for crypto. We were first with PayPal. First with Venmo. Discover Network is the next step. We're enabling Discover Network cardholders to pay for crypto the way they pay for everything else."

For Discover, the partnership represents another expansion of its payment network into digital assets while maintaining the familiar payment experience consumers already expect.

"At Discover Network, our goal is to provide consumers with the flexibility to pay when, where, and how they prefer," said Claudia Schaefer, Vice President of Strategic Client Management for Discover Global Payment Network.

"Through our payment solutions, we empower businesses like MoonPay to deliver a consistently secure and seamless experience for their users."

The Race to Remove Checkout Friction

Crypto payments have become increasingly competitive, with infrastructure providers racing to make buying digital assets as seamless as any online purchase. Instead of asking users to adopt new payment habits, companies are integrating the methods consumers already know and trust.

MoonPay has followed that strategy from the beginning. It became the first crypto on-ramp to support PayPal and Venmo, and the addition of Discover Network further broadens the ways users can access digital assets without changing how they already pay.

The goal is simple: every additional payment method removes another barrier between curiosity and conversion.

Building the Default Crypto On-Ramp

Today, MoonPay serves more than 30 million customers across 180 countries and provides on-ramps, off-ramps, trading, crypto payments and stablecoin infrastructure for more than 500 enterprise partners through a single integration.

The company has also built one of the industry's broadest regulatory footprints, holding a New York BitLicense, a New York Limited Purpose Trust Charter, money transmitter licenses across the United States and authorization under Europe's MiCA framework.

As crypto adoption expands beyond early enthusiasts, convenience is becoming just as important as blockchain innovation.
