Crypto.com is giving eligible U.S. traders another way to trade crypto around the clock: contracts that let them take a position on rising or falling prices without an expiration date.

Crypto.com and OG.com announced the October 27 rollout of crypto perpetuals with up to 5× leverage, available through the Crypto.com App and Exchange. The launch serves everyday app users alongside institutional and advanced traders.

What a Perpetual Actually Does

Buying crypto on the spot market means owning the asset. A perpetual gives you exposure to its price through a contract. Going long expresses a view that prices will rise; going short expresses the opposite.

Unlike a dated futures contract, a perpetual has no scheduled expiry. A trader can keep the position open while meeting the contract’s margin requirements, rather than periodically replacing an expiring position.

As OSL explains in its guide to perpetual futures, removing expiry does not remove the costs of holding a trade. Funding payments help keep perpetual prices aligned with spot markets, while margin requirements determine whether a position can stay open. Product-specific terms still matter.

What 5× Leverage Means in Dollars

Consider a simplified example: $200 in margin supports a $1,000 position at 5× leverage. A 2% move in the trader’s favor would produce a $20 gain before fees and funding—equivalent to 10% of the initial margin. A 2% move against the position would produce a $20 loss on the same basis.

That is why a modest market move can have a much larger effect on the money committed to a leveraged trade. If collateral becomes insufficient, the position can be liquidated.

The announced tools include isolated margin, take-profit orders and stop-loss orders. These help traders manage individual positions; they do not eliminate losses.

A Broader Trading Business Takes Shape

The launch follows Crypto.com’s October 15 introduction of Predict Pro, which brought order-book depth, multiple order types and combinations of two to 20 event contracts to eligible U.S. users.

Crypto.com introduces Predict Pro in its October 19 post.

That earlier release focused on trading real-world outcomes. Perpetuals add another reason for active traders to use the same ecosystem: managing price exposure alongside their other positions.

The commercial direction is clear. Crypto.com wants customers to do more of their trading in one place.

“The expansion of our trading suite to include regulated crypto perpetuals gives our users the ultimate toolkit for market flexibility.”

— Kris Marszalek, Founder and CEO of OG.com and Crypto.com

On October 20, the companies also announced an agreement with River Markets aimed at bringing OG.com’s event contracts to institutional clients through River’s prime-brokerage platform. Together, these announcements suggest a push to reach both individual customers and professional trading firms.

More Ways to Trade, With Clearer Responsibilities

The companies say the perpetuals operate through a CFTC-regulated exchange, clearinghouse and brokerage structure. Crypto.com’s introducing broker connects customers to that infrastructure. Access remains subject to eligibility and jurisdiction.

Blockster’s coverage of the NBA’s partnerships with Kalshi and Polymarket shows a related shift: trading platforms are becoming more closely connected to established businesses and familiar consumer brands.

For Crypto.com, the opportunity is to make more sophisticated tools easier to reach. The useful test will be whether customers can understand the costs, manage their exposure and move between products without losing sight of what each contract actually does.
