Skrill Adds 20 Cryptocurrencies In Expansion Of Crypto Services

About Skrill

As mentioned in the intro, Skrill is one of the products in the lineup of Paysafe, a global payment industry leader – alongside such solutions as Neteller, Paysafecash, and Paysafecard. It was rolled out in 2001 as a digital wallet provider for easy online payments and money transfers both for businesses and individuals.

In 2018, Skrill launched its crypto offering, with an option to buy crypto with US dollars or Bitcoin – which allowed the company to significantly cut down the number of transactions, as well as transaction fees. The offering has been expanding ever since: at the time of this writing, it covers 30+ countries and 48 states in North America, and supports 35 digital currencies.

With the latest expansion, Skrill enabled its users to trade 20 coins: Aave (AAVE), Ankr (ANKR), Balancer (BAL), Decentraland (MANA), Celo (CGLD), Curve (CRV), Compound (COMP), The Graph (GRT), Numeraire (NMR), NuCypher (NU), Loopring (LRC), Synthetix Network Token (SNX), UMA (UMA), Maker (MKR), SushiSwap (SUSHI), Storj (STORJ), Uniswap (UNI), SKALE (SKL), Polygon (MATIC) and Dogecoin (DOGE).

The US Expansion

The growth of Bitcoin in the first two quarters prompted renewed attention for the crypto sector in virtually every country – and, of course, the United States we’re no exception. According to Lorenzo Pellegrino, CEO of Skrill, Neteller, and Income Access at Paysafe, “U.S. consumer interest in cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency trading is stronger than ever.’

Bitcoin’s Wall Street triumphal procession, pending ETF approvals, increased regulatory scrutiny, and the NTF boom in the art collector industry marked 2021 as the most productive year in the history of crypto adoption. Fair enough, at some point the going gets rough – but all signs show we’ve passed the point of no return, and a substantial dialogue has, at last, started. Considering all the above, it’s no surprise that Skrill is expanding its services across the states to meet the increasing demand.

With the last expansion powered by Coinbase’s white label solution, Skrill added 11 new US states and territories to its geography. Today, it covers most states across North America – 48 in total – including major hubs like California, Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
