Blockchain is beginning to move beyond theory and into public infrastructure. In Indonesia, that shift is now happening inside the education system.
In September, Space and Time, in partnership with Indomobil Group—one of Southeast Asia’s largest conglomerates—launched an initiative to bring more than 50,000 students onchain using SXT Chain. The program enables verifiable educational credentials and direct, onchain payments for courses, with Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia’s largest university, joining as an early institutional partner.
Just months later, the first cohort has successfully onboarded, marking one of the most concrete real-world deployments of blockchain in education to date.
Early Results Show Real Usage
The initial rollout is already operating at meaningful scale:
30,000+ participants onboarded
130 million+ onchain transactions
1.2 million+ SXT spent in network fees
Rather than a limited pilot, the program is demonstrating sustained network activity tied to real educational use—not speculation.

Student course completions are recorded onchain as verifiable credentials, allowing learners to prove academic achievements instantly when applying for jobs or further education. Credentials are portable, tamper-resistant, and accessible without relying on centralized databases or manual verification.
Onchain Payments for Indonesia’s Unbanked
The initiative also addresses a long-standing payment challenge. Instead of cash or intermediaries, parents and students can pay schools directly using SXT, reducing friction, improving transparency, and expanding access for unbanked families.
“Education is a critical part of national development. This partnership allows us to lead the world in efficient, transparent, and verifiable education.”
Jusak Kertowidjojo, President Director of Indomobil Group
Every transaction is indexed and verifiable through Space and Time’s data infrastructure, creating a single source of truth for both payments and academic records.

A Blueprint for Onchain Education
By combining credential verification, payments, and data transparency, the Space and Time–Indomobil initiative offers a clear model for how blockchain can function as public infrastructure. With tens of thousands of students already onboarded, onchain education in Indonesia is no longer experimental—it’s live.
