Revolut built its following by making spending abroad and moving money easier. Investors are now backing a much bigger ambition: turning that app into a global banking business.

The company [announced on November 4](https://www.revolut.com/en-DE/news/revolut_completes_fundraising_process_establishing_115_billion_valuation/) that its latest investment transaction values it at **$115 billion**, up roughly **53% from $75 billion in November 2025**. Revolut now serves more than 80 million retail customers.

The transaction was led by Glade Brook Capital Partners, Coatue, Durable Capital Partners, accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates, and Baillie Gifford. Employees again had an opportunity to sell shares. The announcement did not disclose the transaction’s size: **$115 billion is the company’s valuation, not the amount raised.**

## The Business Behind the Price Tag

Revolut’s appeal goes beyond customer growth. It has built a profitable business across payments, subscriptions, foreign exchange and wealth services.

Its latest full-year results show revenue and profit rising together:

| Metric | 2025 result | Annual growth |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Revenue | $6.0 billion | 46% |
| Pre-tax profit | $2.3 billion | 57% |
| Net profit | $1.7 billion | — |
| Total customer balances | $67.5 billion | 66% |
| Retail customers at year-end | 68.3 million | 30% |
| Business customers | 767,000 | 33% |

The company reported a **38% pre-tax profit margin** and its fifth consecutive year of net profitability. Card payments generated $1.3 billion in revenue, while subscriptions contributed $936 million.

For investors, that matters because Revolut already earns money from several parts of a customer’s financial life. Banking licences give it more room to expand that relationship.

## From Travel App to Everyday Bank

Revolut says it launched banks in the UK, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand this year, alongside further licensing milestones elsewhere.

New Zealand illustrates what changes for customers. Its [November 3 launch](https://www.revolut.com/en-DE/news/revolut_secures_landmark_new_zealand_banking_licence_fueling_global_expansion_and_market_disruption/) introduced instant-access savings accounts covered by the country’s Depositor Compensation Scheme, backed by a commitment to invest **NZ$120 million over five years**.

The commercial opportunity is straightforward: customers who already use Revolut to spend or transfer money could start keeping more savings there.

## America Is the Next Big Test

Blockster previously covered [Revolut’s U.S. bank-charter application](https://blockster.com/revolut-applies-for-us-bank-charter-pledges-500m-push). In September, the company received **conditional approval** from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Revolut is targeting a **2027 launch**, subject to remaining FDIC, Federal Reserve and final OCC approvals. Its [planned offering](https://www.revolut.com/en-US/news/revolut_receives_conditional_approval_from_u_s_office_of_the_comptroller_of_the_currency_to_form_a_national_bank/) includes loans, credit cards, insured deposits and access to stablecoins and cryptocurrencies. Those are plans for the proposed bank, rather than confirmation that it is already operating.

That would bring more of Revolut’s services under its own U.S. banking operation. It also connects its digital-asset ambitions with everyday finance—a direction Blockster has followed through [Revolut’s TRON and stablecoin integration](https://blockster.com/revolut-integrates-tron-bringing-staking-and-stablecoins-to-millions).

Describing the wider expansion, founder and CEO Nik Storonsky said:

## Winning the Salary Account

The harder task is persuading customers to make Revolut their main bank.

[Reuters reported](https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/revoluts-rise-become-europes-115-billion-big-bank-rival-2026-11-04/) that primary-account adoption remains a priority for investors. Revolut also earns less per customer than established banks and has a comparatively small lending business. Expanding credit could generate more revenue, but brings greater exposure to borrowers who cannot repay.

A private transaction’s valuation also differs from a share price tested daily on a stock exchange. Investors are paying for expectations about what Revolut can become.

The next stage will be measured in salaries deposited, savings retained and services used regularly. **Revolut has convinced millions to download the app. Now it needs more of them to move their financial lives into it.**
