Cardano jumps 8%, Ethereum holds near $2,700 and Solana slips as crypto heads into TOKEN2049 week with a divided market.

Bitcoin came within touching distance of $87,000 on Monday. Holding that ground proved harder.

After reaching a session high of **$86,949**, Bitcoin pulled back to approximately **$85,519**, leaving it up just **0.20%** in the morning snapshot used for this report.

Circle led the stock gains, rising **3.80% to $84.34**, followed by Coinbase, up **2.61% to $187.78**. Strategy gained **1.71% to $162.74**, while BitMine climbed **1.94% to $26.78** as both companies reported fresh crypto purchases.

Miners went the other way. IREN fell **3.50% to $40.30**, and CleanSpark dropped **2.59% to $12.41**.

Among major tokens, Cardano stood out with an **8.09% jump to $0.2684**. Ethereum was almost flat at **$2,701.71**, up **0.08%**, while Solana slipped **1.93% to $119.59**.

The mixed session comes ahead of [TOKEN2049 Singapore](https://www.token2049.com/singapore), scheduled for October 7–8. Conference appearances and ecosystem updates provide developments to watch, although no verified link establishes that an upcoming Singapore reveal drove Monday’s price moves.

## Circle and Coinbase Hold Their Gains

Circle was the strongest performer among the crypto stocks tracked for this report. Coinbase followed, while Robinhood posted a smaller gain.

[Premarket reporting](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/mstr-coin-crcl-bmnr-stocks-110410017.html) had already identified gains across Strategy, Circle, Coinbase and BitMine as Bitcoin approached its recent peak. Those shares remained positive in the later morning snapshot, despite Bitcoin giving back much of its advance.

That distinction matters. Buying a cryptocurrency, an exchange operator or a company accumulating tokens on its balance sheet creates different exposure. Monday’s trading showed those differences in the returns.

## Strategy Adds Bitcoin. BitMine Builds Its Ethereum Position.

Strategy and BitMine both gave investors fresh holdings updates on Monday.

[Strategy disclosed another 334 BTC purchase](https://www.theblock.co/news/business/2026-10-05-more-orange-than-ever-michael-saylor-strategy-bitcoin-417631), costing approximately **$28.7 million** at an average price of **$85,838.80 per coin**. The acquisition brought its holdings to **848,000 BTC**.

The purchase supplies a concrete corporate-demand story alongside Bitcoin’s price action: Strategy continued adding to its position as the market struggled to sustain its latest advance.

BitMine’s announcement offered the Ethereum counterpart.

The company [reported holdings of 6,016,414 ETH](https://chainwire.org/2026/10/05/bitmine-immersion-technologies-bmnr-announces-eth-holdings-reach-6-02-million-tokens-and-total-crypto-and-total-cash-marketable-securities-holdings-of-17-4-billion/), following a weekly purchase of **15,112 ETH**. It also reported **5,067,309 ETH staked**.

> “Over the past week, we acquired 15,112 ETH,” chairman Tom Lee said in the announcement.

BitMine’s shares rose almost 2% while Ethereum itself barely moved. The holdings announcement provides context for the session, although it does not establish how much of the stock’s gain came from that update.

## Mining Stocks Miss the Rally

The gains did not reach the mining stocks tracked here.

IREN recorded the largest decline in this group, followed by CleanSpark. Hut 8, Riot and MARA also traded lower.

![](https://blockster-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/1791214455-b6c2458de3137d3c.png)

The split makes “crypto stocks rally” too broad a description of Monday morning.

Circle, Coinbase and the two treasury companies were higher. Every mining stock in this selection was lower. The available price data shows that divergence without establishing a single shared cause for the miners’ declines.

## Ethereum Holds Near $2,700. Solana Loses Ground.

Ethereum traded at approximately **$2,701.71**, a marginal gain of **0.08%**, after reaching an earlier session high of **$2,735.81**.

Solana fell **1.93% to $119.59**, underperforming both Bitcoin and Ethereum. XRP slipped **0.66% to $1.50**, while Sui declined **3.25% to $1.19**.

![](https://blockster-images.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/1791214485-d3dc494069d4ee80.png)

Dogecoin held a modest gain, rising **0.53% to $0.09473**. Zcash fell **1.72% to $1,310.56**, down from its session high of **$1,365.92**.

Across this selection, Bitcoin’s earlier strength had not translated into sustained gains across the largest tokens.

## Cardano Stands Out Ahead of Singapore

Cardano was the clearest exception, advancing **8.09% to approximately $0.2684** in the retrieved quote.

[Earlier reporting placed ADA’s gain above 11%](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/cardano-outpacing-bitcoin-xrp-driving-113741007.html). Although the token had since surrendered part of that advance, it remained comfortably ahead of the other major cryptocurrencies tracked here.

The same coverage highlighted last week’s RealFi mainnet launch on Cardano, introducing **USDrf and staked sUSDrf**. That provides relevant ecosystem context, though it does not prove the launch caused Monday’s rally.

Cardano also has a busy Singapore schedule. Its [official TOKEN2049 program](https://token2049.cardano.org/) includes ecosystem demonstrations and builder presentations at Marina Bay Sands on October 7–8.

Before the main conference, its **October 6 Node Diversity Celebration Day** will bring together teams developing independent implementations of Cardano’s node software. The program includes progress updates, development timelines and the introduction of a Diversity Ambassador Program.

Those are concrete developments for ADA holders to follow. Whether they translate into further buying remains an open question.

## Tom Lee Heads to TOKEN2049

BitMine has its own conference moment ahead.

According to the company’s [October 5 announcement](https://chainwire.org/2026/10/05/bitmine-immersion-technologies-bmnr-announces-eth-holdings-reach-6-02-million-tokens-and-total-crypto-and-total-cash-marketable-securities-holdings-of-17-4-billion/), Tom Lee is scheduled to deliver a keynote on **October 7 at 10 a.m. Singapore time** at Marina Bay Sands.

BitMine also plans to release its October chairman’s message this week, titled **“Crypto bull underway — this cycle likely the largest.”** That is management’s outlook, arriving alongside its latest Ethereum accumulation and staking figures.

The appearance gives investors another opportunity to hear how Lee views the market and BitMine’s strategy. It does not establish that a new deal or product reveal is coming, or that anticipation of one explains Monday’s share-price gain.

## Can the Gains Spread?

Bitcoin’s immediate test is whether buyers can recover the ground lost after its approach to $87,000. [Monday’s market coverage](https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/10/05/bitcoin-zooms-toward-usd87-000-nearly-setting-an-eight-month-high-then-reverses) described another attempt to challenge its recent peak that met selling pressure.

For the wider market, the question is whether more assets begin participating. Ethereum was nearly unchanged, Solana was lower and mining shares were falling even as Circle and Coinbase advanced.

Readers comparing the platforms behind some of those stocks can explore [Blockster’s crypto exchange guide](https://blockster.com/crypto-exchange-guide-compare-stocks-ai-trading-rewards-and-borrowing), which examines their expansion into stocks, automated trading, rewards and borrowing.

As attention shifts toward Singapore, the next announcements will give investors fresh information to weigh. For now, the market is rewarding selected names—and leaving others behind.
